I know that you all missed me while I was away last week but I was relaxing on Huckleberry Island in Lake Huron. I love all of our summer vacations but this one is pretty high up on my list of favorites. I grew up vacationing here and it is so much fun to take The Girls up there now. The only way to get to the island is by boat and there are no roads which means no cars, no bike, no nothing. Just a big pile of rocks in the middle of the water. What this also means is NO ELECTRICITY!!! So the place is basically timeless and looks and feels very much the same way it did when I was a kid.
We had beautiful weather and had such a nice time visiting with my parents, my sister with her husband and their brand new baby!!! Such a great week!
There was a lot of swimming! Here the girls are jumping off the dock to Grandpa waiting in the water. Linking up over at Whisper Wood Cottage!

...and death defying tricks on the Water Totter.

That sounds so exciting to be in a place so remote and separated from everyday life! No wonder you go back every year! Enjoy your last few days before school starts back!!
