It may seem like a small accomplishment but to me is was my greatest feat ever......THE HEARTS ARE OFF THE FIREPLACE!!!
Yep, with the help of my handy dandy flat head screwdriver, they were removed from their resting place on the mantle and thrown in the trash.
These hearts truly were the only thing I did not like about this house and part of me feared that they were not removable and that we would have to end up demo-ing the entire fireplace. Not true - they were just tacked on and very easily came off.
Now we just have to sand away the heart-shaped void left in the paint.
