Day 141: Delivery Man

Okay, so I have to totally separate stories of the men who bring me packages.

Story #1: Our mailman scares the bejesus out of me. Now, this is not saying that he is a scary man but he is a man who continues to startle me. You see, our mailbox is attached to the house which means that Mr. Mailman has to come up onto our porch to deliver the mail. Because we are still having some mail forwarding issues he doesn't come up everyday but when he does it is usually at lunchtime. So, what this means is that I am usually standing in our dining room (which is where the door into our house is, the door that the mailbox is right next to) at about the time I hear footsteps on our front porch and see a weird shadow cross in front of our door. Because he does not come every day, meaning there is no consistency to it, it surprises me every time. Other than the fact that it is our harmless Mr. Mailman it is silly that I am surprised at all - I mean what do I think is going to happen - is the weird lunchtime shadow monster going to transport himself through our brick walls and give us all cooties? Now that would be something to write about.

Story #2: The FedEx man did manage to scare the bejesus out of me yesterday. What does he think he is doing pounding on my door in the middle of the afternoon? Okay, so he is completely in his rights to do that and because I had been checking the status of my deliveries I totally knew he was coming. Still, I seem to be a bit jumpy around these two gentlemen.

On a side note, I found it quite interesting that our Fed Ex man was driving a Penske truck. Do you think that is a Main Street thing or a Seasonal thing? Is bejesus a word?

  1. Too funny ... Bejesus is one of those words I have heard spoken but never seen written ... if it is a word you spelled it right! Mimi
